- Requirements: 1. Bachelor degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Technology, Environmental Management or Environmental Engineering from a licensed and/or accredited educational institution. 2. Professional experience of five (5) years in work related to the field of environmental sciences, the protection of the environment or in the implementation of environmental laws and regulations. 3. Bilingual: English & Spanish 4. Knowledge of state and federal environmental compliance laws and regulations applicable to the construction and remodeling of housing projects. 5. Ability to analyze, interpret and enforce state and federal laws and regulations governing the construction and remodeling of homes. 6. Recommends the approval, denial or revocation of certifications of construction projects and remodeling of homes under the CDBG-DR Program, in accordance with established environmental compliance procedures. 7. Develops policies and procedures for environmental compliance for the CDBGDR Program. 8. Provides technical advice and expertise. 9. Writes communications and reports related to the functions performed.
This position is subject to Section 3 from the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968.
