- Requirements: 1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting from a licensed and/or accredited educational institution. 2. Four (4) years of professional experience in accounting work; two (2) of these in functions of a nature and complexity similar to those performed by a Senior Program Accountant in the Career Service of the Department of Housing. 3. Knowledge of the laws, regulations, rules, procedures, principles, methods and modern practices of accounting, auditing and fiscal operations. 4. Ability to keep records and accounting books. 5. Ability to keep records, examine and analyze accounting books and management and fiscal systems, accounts, records, controls, fiscal and administrative transactions and other complex fiscal documents to detect errors and irregularities in them. 6. Coordinates, reviews and supervises all the activities related to funds, accounting, budget allocations, and fiscal transactions of the CDBG-DR Program. 7. Be bilingual in the languages of English and Spanish.
This position is subject to Section 3 from the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968. Under Section 3, to the greatest extent feasible, job training, employment, contracting and other economic opportunities generated by certain HUD financial assistance shall be directed to low-and very low-income persons and businesses and should receive recruitment or contracting priority.
