- Requirements: 1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from a licensed and/or accredited educational institution, which includes or is supplemented by three (3) credits in Auditing or Auditing. 2. Three (3) years of professional experience in auditing or auditing work, in functions of a nature and complexity similar to those performed by a Program Auditor in the Department of Housing's Career Service. 3. Knowledge of the principles, methods and modern practices of auditing, accounting, sampling, interviewing and investigation. 4. Knowledge of modern management principles and practices. 5. Ability to examine books, records, financial statements and other fiscal documents to detect errors and irregularities in them. 6. Intervenes, investigates, analyzes and conduct studies of fiscal operations, accounting systems and operational functioning of the Program, to verify that all procedures and regulations are complied with. 7. Be bilingual in the languages of English and Spanish.
This position is subject to Section 3 from the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968. Under Section 3, to the greatest extent feasible, job training, employment, contracting and other economic opportunities generated by certain HUD financial assistance shall be directed to low-and very low-income persons and businesses and should receive recruitment or contracting priority.
