The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) allocated a total of $20.2 billion to Puerto Rico, of which $10 billion corresponds to CDBG-DR funds to carry out recovery activities related to Hurricanes Irma and Maria, $8.3 billion of CDBG-MIT funds for the development of mitigation programs focused on lifelines that will help prepare the Island for future disasters, $1.9 billion to address electric grid optimization, and $221 million focused on losses related to the 2020 earthquakes. The Transparency Portal shows the CDBG-DR funds amount available for Puerto Rico and the amount committed through contracts, subrecipient agreements, MOU’s and other procurement processes.
