According to the special conditions described by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Puerto Rico has access to $ 3.2 billion, out of a total of $ 20.2 billion, of which $ 10 billion was allocated and another $ 1.9 billion continues pending for approval. In August 2019, Puerto Rico received an allocation of $ 8.3 billion for the development of mitigation programs on the island after the damage caused by hurricanes Irma and María.
