According to the special conditions described by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Puerto Rico has access to $ 3.2 billion, out of a total of $ 20.2 billion, of which $ 10 billion was allocated and another $ 1.9 billion continues pending for approval. In August 2019, Puerto Rico received an allocation of $ 8.3 billion for the development of mitigation programs on the island after the damage caused by hurricanes Irma and María. The Transparency Portal shows the amount available to Puerto Rico and the amount committed through contracts, MOU’s (Memorandum of Understanding), subrecipient agreements, and other procurement processes (Information as of November 2021).
